YSTAD

After the tour, I flew to Copenhagen and then took a train to Ystad, Sweden. This is the home of fictional character Kurt Wallander created by Henning Mankell. I spent 2 days and nights visiting sights mentioned in the books and shown in the movies.

OSLO

I spent my free time on Bygdøy Peninsula at the museums. I also stopped at the Nobel Peace Museum and used the Oslo Pass that was included in the tour.

ÆRØSKØBING

I celebrated sankthansaften or midsummer's eve with the villagers. I barely ever saw it get dark because the sun set so late and I needed my sleep due to the active days.

COPENHAGEN

I skipped a group walking tour of Copenhagen to go on a food tour. Most of those photos are in the "what I ate" section. After the food tour I walked to Christiania. I didn't take any photos there out of respect for the residents. I walked over 10 miles this day. I spent another day here after the tour. I visited Police Headquarters because it features heavily in the Danish shows I watch.

STOCKHOLM

One of my favorite things about a Rick Steves Tour is that I had as much time to explore on my own as I had with the group. I developed new travel skills and satisfied my personal interests. I flew into Stockholm the day before the tour started. I wish I had a few more days to see Stockholm.
