Day 5 was reserved for Versailles. My expectations were low. I usually don't enjoy touring through castles or chateaus and looking at rooms of furniture. However, we had an excellent guide with a point of view that added historical context to each room. Vincent, brought the palace to life. After the tour, we had plenty of time to explore on our own. Like many of my tour mates, my favorite part of Versailles was the Queen's Hamlet. It was in a beautiful setting and it was a great break from the city.

After returning to Paris, I teamed up with a few fellow tour mates for dinner that night, close to the hotel.

Day 6 was an apt finale. We spent the morning together at Musee D'Orsay. We had another fantastic guide in Joelle. This was my favorite museum of the trip. The pieces were new and familiar at the same time. After our tour, tourmate Jen and I walked to the Musee de l'Orangerie. Another fantastic museum. Don't forget to go to the basement!

That evening we met for our final dinner together.

What Did I Eat?

Scavenger Hunt

These two days were a perfect mix of group time and alone time. It was great to share Monet's water lilies with Jen. It was also wonderful to walk the paths at Versailles in my own company.

I am not a great cook, I am not a great artist, but I love art, and I love food, so I am the perfect traveller.
